Newfoundland Diagnostics Ltd

With a focus on early detection, Newfoundland provides NHS-approved at home tests that give instant and accurate insights into your health.

You can find out what’s going on inside your body even before symptoms appear and you can receive accurate answers within minutes, all without having to leave home.

Newfoundland has created a smarter, more convenient approach to healthcare with tests that equip you with the information you need to receive an informed diagnosis from your GP, faster.

The Newfoundland Thyroid Test is an at-home self-test to detect TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) levels in blood as an initial screening tool to check for an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism).

A positive result will be generated if TSH levels are higher than what is considered normal (5 μIU/mL for adults 18+) and may indicate overt hypothyroidism. A negative result would indicate that the TSH level is below 5 μIU/mL and would not suggest overt hypothyroidism. This test does not cover subclinical hypothyroidism.

If you have already been diagnosed with overt hypothyroidism you would need a fingerprick test or a venous test.

If the TSH test indicates possible overt hypothyroidism, you should contact your GP for further testing to confirm a diagnosis of hypothyroidism.

Newfoundland have other at home testing such as Vitamin D, Iron, Cholesterol and Coeliac which can all impact your thyroid health.

You can purchase Newfoundland’s tests from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, WHSmith and other pharmacies or you can purchase them direct from their website.

Order any test from their website and you will get a 20% discount using the code TUK20.
