Phlebotomists are the people who take your blood, usually from a vein in your arm. Unfortunately, not all of us can get to a hospital, GP surgery or chemist easily in order to have those blood tests taken. Private testing can be a good way around this issue.

Before your phlebotomy appointment, please consider these points:
A fasting blood test means nothing to eat or drink, other than water, for 12 hours prior to the test and no alcohol for 24 hours before the test, unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
Keep warm prior to your blood test to help to speed up the procedure. Cold veins are more difficult to find.
