If you have been given a prescription (NHS or private) for natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) or liothyronine (T3) you may find that you have trouble getting it dispensed. Some community pharmacies may not have seen a prescription for these medications before and may struggle to obtain them from their normal suppliers.
If you do obtain a prescription for these medications and your normal pharmacy cannot obtain this, it might be a good idea to suggest that they try a different wholesaler (most pharmacies have their usual wholesaler) and give them details of the pharmacies below who are wholesale pharmacies. If you still have no luck, you could try a different community pharmacy.
If you still have problems obtaining the medications locally, try one of the pharmacies below. You will see that some will dispense using NHS prescriptions and some will only dispense on a private prescription.
We have marked those that are only wholesale pharmacies. These are for community pharmacies to use only. They will not dispense to individuals.
Do be aware that some pharmacies may charge differently so do shop around.
Private prescriptions delivered direct to patient
Quincy is a digital prescribing platform, facilitating the delivery of medication to patients, using partner pharmacies.

If you have a paper prescription, you need to post the original prescription to their main partner pharmacy: Chemist Click, Cardinal Point, Park Road, RICKMANSWORTH, WD3 1RE. These can take a day or two to arrive in the post after receipt of prescription.
Once the prescription is received, they will contact you to pay via debit/credit card using a secure link. (Please ensure to include your email and mobile number with the prescription).
